ITINERARY

  • Departure Quito at 7:30 AM for Yanaocha Reserve.
  • Yanaocha Reserve: Hike the 2km Trocha Inca trail through the forest, observing birds at feeders including tanagers and hummingbirds.
  • Return to Quito 16:00 PM.

WHAT TO BRING?

  • Comfortable and Warm Clothing: Due to the altitude of Otavalo, the weather can be cool, especially at night. Bring warm clothing, such as light jackets and sweaters.
  • Sturdy Shoes: If you plan to explore the surrounding area or visit outdoor markets, wear comfortable, sturdy walking shoes as a trekking recommendation, the trails can be uneven. 
  • Camera and Binoculars: If you are a lover of photography or bird watching, don’t forget to bring your camera and binoculars. The city offers many opportunities to capture special moments.
  • Water: Carry a reusable water bottle and buy bottled water from reliable sources.
