ITINERARY

  • Departure from the meeting point in Quito 7:30 am.
  • Arrival to Pintag and tasting of “Carlitos”, the traditional local bread and explanation of the central church.
  • Stop at the “Isco” viewpoint and observation of birds of the area.
  • Arrival to Antisana National Park.
  • Visit & Hiking to Mica Lagoon.
  • Time to take a pictures.
  • Return to Quito at 16:00pm.

WHAT TO BRING?

  • Important Documents: Don’t forget to bring your passport or identification card. Keep them in a safe place, such as a zippered travel bag.
  • Suitable Clothing for Cold: High quality waterproof and windproof jacket to protect you from the cold and rain, sweatshirts or thermal layers to keep you warm, windproof and cold resistant pants (preferably waterproof), thermal underwear to maintain body heat, wool or thermal socks to keep your feet warm, waterproof and thermal gloves, hat or balaclava to protect your head and ears from the cold.
  • Suitable footwear: Waterproof trekking boots with good ankle support.
  • Backpack: Small, sturdy backpack to carry your essential belongings during the hike.
  • Camera and Binoculars: If you are a lover of photography or bird watching, don’t forget to bring your camera and binoculars. Antisana offers many opportunities to capture special moments.
  • Hydration and Food: Sturdy water bottle with enough capacity to keep you hydrated throughout the hike. Light and nutritious food, such as energy snacks and nuts, to keep your energy up during the hike.
  • Sun Block and Sunglasses: Broad spectrum sunscreen with a high SPF to protect your skin from the strong high mountain sun. Sunglasses with UV protection to protect your eyes from sun glare in the snow.
